your eyes take and don't reveal."

Ana Rute was born in the city she continues to honor: Coimbra, on February 13, 1980. She began her studies in the field of sport but, as life is made by walking, she ended up giving in to her passion, the hobby her parents brought her up with: photography. Ana's father was far away and she learned to stay close through the letters he wrote her, photographs so that she wouldn't forget the lap she so desperately needed to fall asleep.

This is how she began her career as a professional photographer in 2006, in a small photography studio in Condeixa. In 2008, she took on the role of photographic director on practically all the films produced by WeddSToRiES, some of which have won international awards. She is part of the history of weddings held in and outside Portugal (mainland and islands), in countries such as Luxembourg, Serbia, the United Kingdom and Spain.

In July 2014, she finished her career at WeddSToRiES and, in September, the Ana Rute Fotografia project was born. In 2017, she was invited to join the wonderful and exquisite Quinta das Lágrimas Hotel as resident photographer. Since then, guests at this charming venue have been able to count on her art for memories, sessions and occasional family experiences.

In 2019, she was invited to share her knowledge by giving classes at iTAP, to teach how to do what she does... That same year, the project "Show everything without showing anything" was born, which was distinguished in Prague with the Qualified European Photographer (QEP) qualification, a recognition of excellence for European professional photographers.

Everything that divides multiplies and, by providing various training sessions for professionals in the field and beyond, in 2023 the opportunity arose to continue the workshops entitled "Only if you don't want to talk about photography", at FNAC Coimbra.

The year 2024 begins with the surprise of having one of his images included in the Portuguese selection for the World Photography Championship, in the Natural Portrait category. But it was in 2025, in Quito - Ecuador, that the Portuguese team reached the podium in the very honorable position of 2nd place, with one of Ana Rute's images in the team, this time in the Illustrative Portrait category.

There is no greater pride than having the privilege of representing, participating and helping your country in this @worldphotographiccup.

In February of this year, at the photography qualifications in Fátima, Ana Rute won the following distinctions:

Ana Rute grew up with every photograph she took. She took on the role of being part of the stories she recorded and, along the way, discovered herself, eliminated taboos and made her art versatile. I've seen her transform fleeting moments into images for life and I expect nothing less from her future... Renewing her faith with every setback, jumping into every challenge with open arms, flying towards whatever comes!!!
